Use your insurance
Health insurance
Today, more than 2.9 million Danes have private health insurance, either self-paid or through their employer. With a health insurance policy, you can in many cases, in agreement with your insurance company, get a quick investigation and get treatment at Hemi.
What does a health insurance cover?
Preliminary examination and scanning
In most cases, your health insurance will first cover a preliminary examination (examination) and possibly an MRI scan.
Treatment after diagnosis
Some insurances cover subsequent treatment for a period of 3-6 months after the diagnosis is made.
How do you get from referral to treatment?
- Get a referral from your own doctor to a neurologist if you are an adult or a pediatrician if you are under 18 years old.
- Get approval from your health insurance for a preliminary examination.
- Call Hemi on tel. 42 54 22 00 and book an appointment for preliminary examination.
- After the preliminary examination, Hemi requests the assurance for approval to initiate a course of treatment.
- Start treatment at Hemi when the insurance has given the green light.
What should I pay attention to in order to receive treatment?
When contacting your health insurance, it is important to pay attention to the following:
- Referral from own doctor: You will need a referral from your own doctor.
- Insurance coverage: Typically, the 'problem' must have occurred during the period you have been covered by your health insurance.
- Existing diagnoses: Insurance typically does not cover if you have previously been given a 'chronic' diagnosis for this specific 'problem'.
Other insurance
Hemi cooperates with a wide range of different types of insurance, where in certain cases coverage can be provided for a course of treatment at Hemi. For example, it can be occupational injury insurance, accident insurance, loss-of-employment insurance, etc.
